Richard Russell Riordan Jr (Rick Riordan) was born on June 5, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas, United States. He attended Alamo Heights High School and North Texas State University in music program. Originallye, he wanted to become a musician and guitarist. Later on, he started to study English and History and received his teaching certificates in those subjects. Riordan started teaching at Presidio High School in San Francisco as English and Social Studies teacher and taught for eight years. His first book was “Big Red Tequila” which was the first book in the series “Tres Navarre”. It won the Anthony Award and the Shamus Award in 1997.

Career of Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan published six books in the “Tres Navarre” series. He also published the final book in the “Tres Navarre” series in 2008. One book of series “The Widower’s Two-Step” won the Edgar Award in 1999. After that he published the first book in the “Percy Jackson & the Olympians” series in 2005. He continued to publish books in the series over the next four years such as “The Sea of Monsters,” “The Titan’s Curse,” “The Battle of the Labyrinth,” and “The Last Olympian.”
